Tomatoes need saving!!

    Tigerella's a very pretty tomato, Fairygirl. It's also sometimes called "Mr Stripey". The taste is pretty sharp. Watch them, they can be prone to splitting.

    Thanks for that Italophile. I'll keep an eye out. The girls bought a pack of seeds - all 'unusual looking' veg - as a gift ;)
    They look ok just now, but I had a look to see what people thought of them taste wise, and opinions seem to vary widely. I'll wait and see. They'll do for sauces if they're no good in salads :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Err, no I don't think so, they are two different varieties.

    It's more correct to say that Tigerella is sometimes *confused* with Mr Stripey.
  • The indigo blue and the plum are not a patch on the taste of the cherry so wont be growing them next year. The cherry is called Sakura and it's the most prolific and best tasting tomato I've grown in years so will definitely be growing it again next year.
