Oh wow, various kettles of interesting fish. Heaps of Haddock!

Connecting doorbells to phones and intercoms and things. My mind is boggling. I miss hearing the doorbell to merit sorting out the problem. Clearly time to do some research. All very interesting. Thanks gang.

We have a wireless doorbell on our front gate so visitors and deliveries can let us know they're here without having to get past the dogs.   The gate is a good 30 metres form the front door and we keep the chime in the hall.   The signal is good and clear so I dare say the signal will travel further.   It's made by Optex and we got it in a local DIY.

Thanks. Ideally I'd like to just buy an extra chime rather than a whole new unit. Or an app might be good... Or both.

I go the old fashioned route and use the dog. The only time he barks is if someone is at the front door. Runs out and stands and barks once, thats the code for 'intruder'  :).  Although the annual cost of this system is quite high.

I’ve got this, bell push on the door, other bit in pocket or clips onto belt. I think it was something like 6.99 from Morrison but probably can get them online.  Plays a choice of tunes, very ‘70’s😀

We had a dog once and the window cleaner told me that he could always tell when we were in. Apparently, she never barked when we were out - only when we were in. Some guard dog!

I bought a nice little enamelled sign for about £5 which says "In the Garden" and I hang it from a small nail on the front door. People just walk round the back to find me when it's in place.

Might not work so well if it was a terraced property though😂
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
