What’s eating my Alstrometia 😳

Hello everyone 

can anyine tell tell me what’s eating my Alstromeria, I had the same problem last year - is it moths? Little critters 😡

    More likely to be slugs and probably little ones.  Have you checked at night?

    No but I have found some under my begonias - do I just pick them off or can I treat with anything?

    Nematodes, wildlife friendly slug pellets, beer bath, pick off and squish/drown/cut in two/salt.  I'd check over the pots and the compost as they will be lurking under the pot, in the rim, in the roots by day.  Remove any you find, put the plant back in the pot and mulch the top with sharp grit or coffee grinds or similar.

    I’ve got a load of crushed egg shells in the pot as I thought that would help but it doesn’t seem to have 🤨 
    I’ll get my sister in the pots as she doesn’t mund picking them up!

    Just found 2 snails - now evicted

    I go around with a meat skewer and container.  Put them in the compost heap then they haven’t died in vain🙂

    my sister puts them in the grass out the front 🤷🏽‍♀️ Told her they will just eat their way back to my plants - I like your idea better 😊

    😳 they will defo be getting put on a compost heap then! I said they would but was joking 🙈

    If you can manage it - take a look at your pots during the day - that's when you often find them lurking under the rims. If you have plants which have big, strappy leaves, they like hiding in there during the day too. They love my phormiums. 
    I enjoy squishing - no return journey then   ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
