Ive had 2 plastic greenhouses in The past. Both blew away in the wind even when I had them tied up and had slabs over the base. I gave up with them! I’d love a lean-to also. The plants that need to be overwintered will be living in my kitchen. As I have big patio doors and it gets as hot as a greenhouse haha. I’ve said when my musella get big that I’m going to scrap the Christmas tree and hang decorations off my bananas instead haha.
Hi Notyalca, I lifted the hebe out to see if I can find any more tetrapanax root underneath. There was some root of something but the trouble is it looks very similar to bindweed root (I wouldn't want to send you any of that! Haha) so I've potted it up and we'll just have to wait and see Ive just read that it grows from a small piece of root easily in a warm propagator so that's what I'm going to do. Wish me luck.
For my garden I'd have to say yes, both, lovegardening77. It has gone through so many changes, the current pond is the 4th and best I've done yet! And some of the poor plants don't know whether they're coming or going they've been moved around so much. It's always a work in progress as I take stock over what looks good and what doesn't, and make changes. And I'm very much a plantaholic so plants get fallen in love with at the garden centre, I impulse buy and worry where on earth it's going to go when I get home because I've no room!
I would love a musa but scared to spend the money when we have quite hard winters here. I have 2 musella lasiocarpa which are the hardier bananas. I took the plunge because they were on offer. They will come inside over winter as large house plants haha. But trying from seed is a good idea that I might try!
Lovegardening77 - 2 years ago my garden was just grass, the raised bed at the back was there and it had plants but I removed everything and started again. The gravelled side of the garden was all this year. I think the pictures from before are on an old phone, I will dig them out eventually! I’m also a plantaholic and a gardener so I see so many things I like and I have quite an extensive “shopping list” I’m always doing something though. Just started on the front garden now as I wanted to get it started this year rather than waiting until spring. I would be planting regularly but I don’t have the money for plants haha. There a special treat.
And if im not gardening I’m decorating.. I just don’t sit still haha
How about a very tall succulent succulents .I bought one , an alpine . as an alpine in a three inch pot five years later it is three ft tall ,spread out
