I can remember our first car reg too RG but it was only 6 digits. Have only just mastered the new French reg for the two cars we brought from Belgium and that's only because parking meters now ask for reg no. I also have the lyrics, key changes, riffs and so on of hundreds and hundreds of songs from the 60s, stored away in my brain somewhere but don't even know the artists of recent stuff.
I need to go and hide somewhere cool. OH is ironing sheets and duvet covers while watching golf. Who does that when it's 37.5C in the shade out there?

Most of us are good at some things less good at others, that is apart from a few VERY annoying people who seem to be good at everything- but are they any happier?
Minds are odd things. My spelling and maths are pretty bad but to make things worse I have a totally visual mind. Ask me to spell something or do a sum and I have to write it down to make any sense of it. I can only do things like crosswords if I have it in front of me so I can see it, read out the clues and I'd be totally useless. It makes me look stupid at times but it's just the way my brain works.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Can I add 'loosing' instead of 'losing' to the list. I am about 3 pages behind again! I am very pernickety about spelling, especially in public places. Even to the point of complaining to Tesco that one of their professionally printed signs had spelling mistakes on it. And there was a very expensive flooring company that used entirely the wrong spelling for a word (they wrote about a 'colour pallet' rather than 'palette').....

Oh yes HW but, again, fault of education rather than intellect.
Wild Edges - If I explain house or garden things to OH using just words he can look dumbfounded or get the wrong end of the stick. If I draw it (and I'm hopeless at drawing) he can better understand what I mean. He's not thick but I have long suspected that his brain does not process words like mine does. Male thing or just OH?

Whatever way my brain works it always seems to find spelling errors, came in handy at university, I got to spell check lots of papers. I seem to be developing a case of hay fever......started on Wednesday when at hospital appointment.....haven't suffered from it in many years. Tickly nose, urge to sneeze driving me crazy! OH getting anti-histamines while in town.

I'm not sure if I've trained my brain to be this way or if I've adapted my life to suit how my brain works but I work in a very visual job that relies on images to describe everything and years of studying for that can't have helped. I've come across a lot of people in this job though who can't understand things no matter how many drawings I give them or how simple I try to make the concepts. I can tell people the size of a room but quite often they have to relate it to a room they're familiar with or physically measure out the size on the floor to understand the size.
