The pic in my post Obelixx?  Some random woman used for the meme as far as I'm aware.
It was the "grin and bear it" aspect that caught my eye.

That's OK then.  Now, what is a meme?

An internet meme is generally an image/text, used to demonstrate an idea, thought or emotion on social media.

Oh josusa. Sorry to hear it wasn't much fun, after you were really looking forward to taking part too 😞.
Your description of the day made me feel irritated for you, and as for the teacup clinking "Iechyd da!"... Pass the cheese please.

Dare I ask if this ⬇ is your tv face?

Isn't that Fiona Bruce?  I wasn't suppressing rage, just thinking how phony and insipid it all was.  I can't see anyone finding it interesting, entertaining or informative, and if they'd been content to let us take the lead, it could have been all three.  I was wearing my curmudgeon's face, which is probably why they didn't ask me any questions!  The other volunteers seemed to enjoy it, they're less cynical than me.

I suggest you watch the programmes next time Jo.  They're trite in parts and a lot of the bedding they use is just awful but the main thrust of the programmes is that the Britain in Bloom projects bring diverse communities together, brighten and clean up otherwise dull or waste spaces and are generally a good thing both economically and socially, not to mention environmentally.

Curmudgeon mode now.  Bough a whole fish to day at the SM - asked the assistant to scale and clean it.  Got distracted chatting to Bethany who wants to learn to like fish but can't cope with ahving one gutted in front of her just yet.  Got said fish home - a vieille - and it was neither properly de-scaled nor even rinsed.  All fins still attached too.   The scales are huge and very firmly attached, the fins are thick and tough.  More than a match for my kitchen scissors so it's only just gone in the fish kettle.

Told OH to pretend it's a take-away after the pub since he's been sat drinking beers.

Do you notice when that skinny woman receives the snake oil funerrrrrrall plan, she accepts it with two hands, as if it's the holy grail.
It's all a gamble: they're gambling that you'll die quickly or stop paying. You're gambling that you'll live long enough for your relatives to recoup your payments.
The way I look at it is, there'll probably be enough to dispose of me after the care home has had its cut and anything over and above is  bonus.

I'm sorry that some feel that the lightheartedness has gone, but this thread is what you all make of it.
We could definitely do with some off piste or piste off hoots here.

Kitty - thank you but I don't feel much wiser.

Back to Britain in Bloom - why so many flipping begonias.  Hate 'em!

I may have to go to bed early.  OH has football on in the kitchen and Possum is watching one of the Pirates of the Caribbean.  Can't bear Johnny Depp either.  Grump grump.
