Roland hasn’t cut the grass here for more than 6 weeks, as Hosta says, saves on petrol. we had a week off in September last year, can’t remember all of the week but this was on the 6th, we had a day at Hartland, nice weather.

Growing up in south East England, I noticed quite early in life that in September, the weather usually gets cooler then warms up again. I always booked a week's leave the third week of September and rarely was it cold or wet.
I agree @josusa47. September is usually lovely. Last year, however, I wore boots and my fleece when I went back to work for the first time in nearly forty years! I was foundered as we say here. Most years I'm still running about in a tee until October or later.
Can I be curmudgeonly because it's not actually hot any more? Hubby had jeans, t shirt and a sweatshirt on yesterday morning. I was very brave in t shirt and shorts, coz I'm dead butch.
