Fuchsia 'Tree' - 11 foot approx.

I have recently moved into a house with a large overgrown garden. There are several tree-like fuchsias, which have a long, slim, wilting trunk and a clump of healthy leaves and flowers on the top.
Do I just cut it down and remove the roots or is there a chance of cutting down and regrowth?

Most fuchsias respond well to being cut hard back and will shoot again from the base.  Can we see a photo of your pants please ... we might be able to identify the type  and make some suggestions as to your options.

Dear Dove, one can take a warm welcome a little too far. Do we really need to see a picture of Lynne's pants, straight off the bat? She might what kind garden lovers we are. Let's get to know each other and have a few drinks first.

goferydd  welcome to the group - apols for the antics. Do you want to keep the tree or are you trying to get rid of it?

I would like to keep it but only if it can be taken down to a sensible height...

Agree about a photo, I have huge fuchsia bushes here, they are cut right down almost to the ground every March.
