It'll be over too quickly but the bumblebees have been enjoying my Taiyo sunflower
As the taiyo reaches the end of it's serving, this self-seaded suflower of unknown origin (dropped birdfood?) is coming to life. It's a lot smaller than the Taiyo but it has brilliant, large petals.
Great find this year has been Hedge germander (Teucrium lucidrys). We planted some as a little hedge along the veg patch and the bumbles go bananas for it! Flowers at a good time of year for them too.
Antirrhinums (snap dragons) the bees love them i successfully grew 200 plants from seed last year and planted them out in my new project a bee garden its quite big as its a circle in a 2 acre garden. Also they are perennials they self seed like crazy and rabbits dont eat them so they are the go to number 1 plant for me
Bees absolutely love Digitalis “Berry Canary”. They literally can’t get enough of it! I noticed that plant in the GC and even there it was surrounded by bees, so I bought it straight away. Hope I will be able to propagate it to have more for the next season. And did I mention it’s really pretty 😊
