Interested to know how they finally look, how long they bloom and how tall you have managed to get them. Always like the notion of resurrecting plants that GCs have all but discarded. Well done Jellyfire

I had some alliums last year, labelled summer drummer. They grew six foot tall and flowered in July.I was expecting a huge flower, but only about 4 inch across.  This year they started growing, but only one has flowered.  They have the long bud like that.

oh forgot I was going to post pics when the Allium White Cloud flowered, which is indeed what it is. They have been open about 2 or 3 weeks and show no sign of fading yet. The flowerhead on the largest is about 10cm across. Looks a bit lost on its own, but would make a lovely drift so planning on getting more for next year

Oh thank you @Jellyfire that does look gorgeous and as you say would be fabulous in a drift.  I'm impressed that the flower has lasted so long in the heat we've had lately  :)

That one is under a medium sized ash tree so its in part shade, but the ground is (or was) like concrete there, doesnt seem to have bothered it unduly though. There are two smaller ones in a sunnier, but more often watered spot, theyre about half the height, but that could just be because the bulbs were less mature
