Some summer bulbs I planted last year, cant remember for the life of me what they were, but the flowerbuds have been forming for weeks now and impatience has go the better of me. On the second pic its the upright stem in the middle

hmm, could be but they dont look familiar. It will definitely be a white flower from where Ive planted them and dont seem to be any/many white forms of it. Have a feeling I put them in a couple of years ago and they did nothing last year, but a few buds around this year.

Bingo! https://www.promessedefleurs.com/bulbes-de-printemps/bulbes-par-varietes/alliums/ail-d-ornement-allium-white-cloud.html Thats the buds in th background. Thanks @Dovefromabove, how lovely,  think they probably came as one of those mixed allium packages. Late summer flowering white alliums are pretty much my dream plant, so if they come up with the goods will be investing in more of these!

Show us some pics when they come out ... I may well emulate you  :)

will do. The buds have been growing for ages now. The foliage is just from a single upright stem so no big strappy allium type leaves to take up room. Growing in bone dry soil in part shade.  Im trying not to get too excited in case the flowers turn out to be a damp squib!

Tell me about it! have a feeling I probably got them cheap from the GC out of season, which is maybe why they did nothing last year

Definitely be getting some of these. Thanks for the post as I hadn't realised you could get later flowering alliums
