Does anyone recognise this rose? It is salmon colour and flowers profusely for months.

Thanks Dovefromabove and Marlorena! I've had a look and Super Star does look very similar, although when I read about it allegedly Super Star is prone to mildew and I've never had mildew on these over all these years. In fact they are the most healthy and require almost no attention of all the roses I've ever had.

I grew Superstar way back in the early 70s ... it never had a hint of mildew then.  It's not a colour I'm fond of nowadays, but it really is a superb rose.  :)

I'll search for Super Star at a nursery near me and have a closer look. Thanks Dovefromabove! Like you, in general it's not a colour I'd go for, but I think these seem to be in the right spot for the colour with the brickwork and paint colour combinations for me.

Absolutely agree ... sometimes things just work don't they?  Geum Totally Tangerine never looked right in this garden ... I gave it to my daughter Wonky Womble who has a wall of old Suffolk red bricks in her garden ... it works perfectly there  :)

I would never describe Super Star as 'bright red'  :/

I also had Fragrant Cloud in that garden ... they were both very popular back then.

Have never heard of either till today Dove.   I'm trying to move away from just pinks and deep reds for my roses and have acquired some coppery ones but that vermillion is a bit too strong even so.

I had Super Star in our first house years ago in the 70s. Its flower was that colour and it was fragrant. But it's a hybrid tea rose which tends to have one flower on each stem, or not many. Floribundas have lots of flowers on a stem, so I'm doubting a bit if that's it as your roses seem to have clusters of flowers so look more like floribundas. The flower of Super Star is a good shape with a pointy middle, before it goes over.
