Ohh.......I wouldn't be trying to smuggle any plants........you could introduce some creature/disease into the country. Reminds me of the time my mother went to the US and brought home an ear of corn which she had picked herself!!.........she thought it would great on the grandchild's nature table in school
Have a look for salad veg seeds. They have lots of much more interesting alternatives to lettuce. Actually start by a wander round a fruit and veg market and see what unusual and interesting things there are to eat - then look for the seeds
Gardening on the edge of Exmoor, in Devon
“It's still magic even if you know how it's done.”
Having lived there for 8 years I would say the garden centres are well behind ours and pretty expensive too. I would bring back seeds as someone suggested,as there are a lot of weird and wonderful salad/veg and flowers. When I left I gave my potting tray to my neighbour, and he was over the moon with it??? My husband gave him an electric sander, which he'd never seen before! Maybe where we lived they were a bit dated!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

Apart from introducing plant plague, are there any restrictions on what you can bring in?
