I'd like to grow it quite upright because my doorway is tall and thin. Do you have one? I'd love to see any pictures x

I used to have it... but we move on.  This is  how I grew it, quite upright. It does flower from top to bottom...

    ..they have a nice scent...

Quick question. I planted a DA climber about 6 weeks ago it has bloomed well in a large pot. I have watered as recommended 3 times a week but with a full watering can. However the new blooms have all died and fallen off. Is this most likely to be under or over watering ?

The foilage looks very healthy and their is no sign of any disease or bug infestation. Plant is in part shade

    Any suggestions would be welcome

How long did the blooms last? Did they fill out into flowers? Rose flowers don't last very long and they often come out in flushes. It could also be the shock of being replanted. I wouldn't worry, it will have another flush in a few weeks I expect.

Remove the spent flowers cutting back to the nearest leaf axil.   Assuming it's  repeat flowerer, it will produce more buds and flowers.   Make sure you feed it well with slow release fertiliser for roses next spring and give it liquid rose or tomato food once a week when watering.

Okay so I've found a couple of possible containers for morty. They are the biggest ones I've found that will fit in the space by my door which is a max 50cm wide.
Any thoughts or recommendations gratefully received!

I would choose the stewart one from those 2...  I prefer the deeper root run available..

This is ''Surpassing Beauty'' or the Woolverstone Church Rose as it's also known.. it's true identity is unknown, but probably a hybrid perpetual rose from the late 19th Century.   Let me say that, I don't recommend it for your purpose.  It's really something of a specialist/collectors rose, and I don't mean to sound snobbish here.  The scent is one of the best there is though, but you want something else for your porch. One of the others of your choice would be better...

    Absolutely fantastic rose.
