Next door neighbour’s grapevine. The young leaves look pretty and the mini bunches of grapes are a talking point ( until someone tries one !). But it’s a thug that has squeezed under my shed roof and prised it from the walls.
I havent hacked it back because it was a cutting from my neighbour’s late mum’s garden. It’s not a bone of contention though, I’m sure they are sick of my clematis Montana that I can’t reach to hack back.
I now go over to neighbours on both sides (friends) and garden my garden from their side. I don't like the idea of them having to hack back my ill-advised ideas.
I've fallen out with loads of plants over the years - mainly all the ones that slug/snails like [ the usual suspects] Too much effort to keep them, and I have neither the time nor the inclination to put that effort in
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Lyn you know those jobs which seem a good idea until the very nano second after you start them? methinks your bamboo removal attempts might be one of them.
My wall of bamboo is coming out this winter, definitely not a cottage garden plant but made a screen from the lane at the time. I may feel sorry for it later, I hate digging out good plants, I love anything that grows for me.
Well, IMHO, bamboo is the kind of plant that grows more against you than for you.
