Johnson’s Blue geranium.  It’s very leggy, untidy and sprawling through everything. Guess I need to give it a chop but the bees are loving it! That in itself is good enough reason to persevere!
Think it's a plant that you really have to play to its strengths ... plant it where it's going to look gorgeous sprawling through stuff ... around, under and through pink groundcover roses for instance ... as you say, the bees love it

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Alchemilla mollis. I love the colour, growth form but Oh boy does it seed itself everywhere, smothering smaller plants.

Snowdrops. Just cannot grow them in this garden.

An unknown named pink, scentless violet. Seeds everywhere.

Lupins... I can't be faffed with all the greenfly!

It's weird but you can't be that far from me and they grow really well here. They even grow feral alongside the roads.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I have a dreadful Hydrangea Annabelle that has been in my garden on a Parkers Freebie offer for about three years. All it is is a slug magnet.
I am about to post it on freecyle with a "take this plant at your own risk." warning.

I have seen more "appetizing" Hydrangea Annabelle specimens :/ . No wonder it has become non grata in your garden.

Do the slugs hide under the plastic?
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Heucheras, but only in my own garden. Vine weevils get them every time.

    Dove,
my mum came round this afternoon and said the border looked lovely, especially the Johnson’s Blue “sprawling through everything”. You’re right..... I’ll leave it to sprawl away to its hearts content. Think I might love it again now 😊

Justifiably popular, ‘Iceberg’ goes on flowering right through the summer. Clusters of pink buds open to double, slightly fragrant white flowers, 7cm across. It is disease-resistant and easy to grow. There is also a climbing variety. I have had this rose rose a few years ago as a climber, it really did flower all summer.
