A asbo is exactly what's needed. If anyone has ideas of how to serve an asbo to a teenage corvid, do let me know.

The magpies here have been buzzing the cat. They are very raucous when he is prowling around. This lasted for three weeks, but has now stopped. OH thinks they were protecting youngsters against the predator.

I know a few teenagers who ARE high frequency emitters
  • I saw ours pecking a squirrel's tail. When it turned on them they hopped away and once it returned its attention to robbing the bird feeders they would creep up on it and peck its tail again. They could only have been doing it for a laugh, and I think they're great. They also sound comparatively melodic when they're arguing with the Jays.

I find the magpies here chatter and squawk when squirrels are around, so perhaps that's your answer.
