  • It was a plant I bought 8 or 9 years ago, thought the frost had killed it,  so left it in the large pot behind my shed and last spring I saw new little green shoots so I really had to try and save it, but just look at it now, it's lovely, I just  can't  remember its name
  • Fascinating and impressed to see all the knowledgeable people here trying to work this one out :)

Never used them myself, but apparently there are now Phone Apps where you can use pictures like this, and the App will identify the plant for you.

Got it!  Lysimachia paridiformis var. stenophylla?  Rare.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • You are so right Bob, very many thanks, I googled it and it exactly right, I'm sure you have put all our minds at ease o :)

It reminded me of loosestrife so used that as a starting point. :)

  • Thank you to ever one who tried hard to name my plant, I really appreciate all your interest and help o:):):)
  • Wow!! I have Loosestrife in bloom now but never made the connection, the yellow flowers are so similar. Hindsight is a wonderful thing :)

    Well done BobTheGardener...spot on.
    This was really bugging me.
Might have guessed it was a Dan Hinkley introduction......"Dan Hinkley's collection from China's Emei Shan from whence have come so many exciting plants"

I think your plant is Lysimachia paridiformis var. stenophylla.
You beat me to it Bob! I should have looked at the final page before I posted my answer.
