Hello, I bought this fellow last autumn, it was unlabeled but the seller told me it was a mini dianthus. It looks healthy and grows steadily but no flowers or buds until now? Who knows what this is? It’s only 4 inches high. And yes, I have a terrible horsetail problem, as you can see in the pics. It’s the only thing my slugs don’t like to eat.

If so, the biggest mini dianthus I've ever seen! Maybe an interspecific Dianthus, but surely of the tallest kind.

It could be Dianthus alpinus. In which case it should flower in a couple of weeks time.

My interspecific ones are so short, they hug the ground! Hope yours is D. alpinus, it is great....

Thank you! I looked it up and the pictures looked a lot like my plant. It seems to come in different colours, so that will be a surprise. I will keep you informed..

Those look exactly like my Dianthus deltoides (Maiden pink.)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

And is yours flowering now? Looks like a better match than the alpine. In dutch the deltoides is called steenanjer, this means stone pink.
