    @Desthemoaner yeah I was kidding.......honest.  ;)

    You have to speak to them first, no question of that.  Keep us all posted as to their response, they may be genuinely concerned and hopefully take steps to stop it themselves, if not............. https://www.andrex.co.uk/products/.   :D

    I like the Dreadlock Holiday reference btw.  :)

    On second thoughts the water butt pump probably wouldn't work too well, as you suggest, Fire.

    TBG, you had me going there, and I was actually searching for an old shoe box and the phone number of the local curry house before I clicked. Close run thing!

    Water scarer it is (plus a quick word with beast's no doubt totally innocent owners).

    Look out cat, its gonna be shower time!

    And you'll only get soaked a few times yourself before you get used to turning the water scarecrow off when you want to be in the garden.....
    Aye - but it keeps you fit - all that running and jumping.... :D
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    I was going to put one in my garden but it might be too unwieldy for my small plot. If I  do it, I will run the hose the full length of the garden, from the tap at the far end, and point the gun away from the backdoor. Hopefully, that way I would not get soaked and can turn it off on the scarer itself. Right now most of the garden is under netting and chicken wire, which isn't exactly... elegant.

    You do need to have a good tight tap - with no leaks. (Mental note to self). It might also be useful to have a tap splitter, so that you can run the scarer and fill a watering can, without always having to dismantle things...
  • My daughter has one in her tiny garden and managed to thoroughly soak the window cleaner the other day! I don't think is scared him away permanently though, fortunately.

  • Why was the window cleaner pooing in her garden?  (little nonchalant whistle smiley face thingy) .   ;)
