Ideas for slug proof climbers

I need some ideas for a nice fairly quick growing climber that is slug proof to grow up a trellis. I want some colour if possible but as my morning glory has been completely devoured by slugs I'm having to rethink what to grow up the trellis. I don't mind if it's annual or perennial but am struggling to think of something the slugs won't like as much! Any ideas please?

We had no slug problems with Black Eyed Susan when we grew it the other year

It'll romp up a trellis ... you can virtually watch them grow  :)

You could buy some two litre pots of perennial sweet peas - perhaps less vulnerable to slugs than annual sweet peas.

Slugs will devour morning glory.. but not bindweed?!  Clever buggers.

Clematis - a nice strong Boulevard variety? But not cheap.

Great idea Fire! I love sweet peas so to have a perennial variety will be super. I don't think these are scented though are they?

No, not scented. I like the white ones.

If I buy them at a GC how do I tell the difference between the annual or the perennial? Do they have different names?

It will say 'perennial' or 'everlasting' on it, I should imagine. Lathyrus latifolius.
The plants look a bit different - chunkier, less delicate. They do need a good watering for the first few months.
