    If the horses were fed on pastures or hay treated with aminopyralid that will have passed into the manure and will affect any broad leafed plant.    There are supposed to be rules about its use and also restrictions on any resulting horse or cow poo intended for manuring garden and veggie fields.............

    On a different subject. Is this a climbing rose? I have no idea what it is. Started growing if its a acorn tree then I'm digging it out. If it's a climbing rose should I be supporting it?

    NOt a rose.  A tree.  You need @Nutcutlet to identify with any certainty.

    Silver birch? A bit close to the house, perhaps.

    I'd say a birch sapling.  Far too close to the house.  I'd get rid of it.  

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
