That's cruel. Snip them and they're just as dead!

I'm going to bite the bullet this weekend and plant out my babies.
Be prepared for some venomous posts if they're not safe the next day

  • I have an enclosed co post bin (Dalek variety), so when I find a slug or snail I place them in the composter so that they can’t be put to some use. At the end, when I want to use the compost, I chuck in a handful of slug pellets in...et voila! Slug free compost. OK, so they die in the end, but I gave them a happy life while they were around.

    HH, I think that's a bit hopeful.

I've found another murderous pastime - little black and white shield bug type thingy  squashing.
Not as crunchy as lily beetles and they dye your fingers orange but they're slow and easy enough to find.
Their grubs are just toooooo yucky so I snip them with scissors. <proper evil devil emoji>
