my fear of cruises , and other "organised trips"is having some weirdo "latch on" and never being able to shake them off.
We did a fabulous tour around Sri Lanka and some of them on the trip  ( 16 in total ) I'd have thrown off the bus in the middle of nowhere and not blinked an eye as we drove off and left them there.
We like ‘real cruises’ and weirdos have so far not been an issue. The secret being not having dinner at the same time with the same people. Plus, I’m frankly not polite enough to not tell some loon where to get off!

    Hosta, you are harsh!

I used to live in Norfolk as a youngling, where a lot of people had the same nose. It's a phrase that stuck. Except there it was literally true. I would get on a local bus and everyone could have been cousins. It was very eerie. Kind of Stepford with mustard.
Have you ever been to Bodmin? 10,000 people: one set of great grandparents. ;)
    Devon.

Exactly so. That's how the tour of Italy felt. I have a lot of older friends (all a lot more interesting than anyone on that coach trip).

Similar to the Forest of Dean except 'could' should allegedly be replaced with 'would'. :D
