I have used white lace terylene curtains draped over my greenhouse as shading. Looks quite attractive and is working well. I thought it might blow off but have hooked it onto corners of the frame plus a few protruding screw heads. So far so good.
Gardeners have always been an innovative bunch of individuals. Using unusual objects as containers being one of our specialities. I once used an old Dainty Maid kitchen unit laid on its back as a raised bed, until it finally rotted and fell apart. It grew wonderful carrots, the longest I have ever grown.
Lol... I know! But the umbrella was broken and was destined for the tip...it appears to be working quite well! I put holes in the bottom/top so it drops into the bucket lol! There is another bucket without an umbrella.... the challenge is on!
A metal tray, some sticks, plastic mesh and bungee cords - the latest in a series of increasingly robust contrivances to keep the pigeons and gulls from scoffing all the bird food. I wonder how they'll defeat this one - my guess is the gulls will bite through the bungee cords.
