OOh to own 2 giant terracotta pots would be amazing.  Perhaps Gardeners World will run a competition?

Is there anything you can treat terracotta pots with to stop flaking or frost damage ? Even the ones that are "frost proof" are worse for wear aftet a rough winter

Obelixx has suggested above using a few coats of mat or satin varnish, Jason. Personally I don’t mind a bit of frost damage so long as they don’t crack, adds to the character, I think.

I recently bought two lovely 55x55cm terracotta pots for less than 50€ each, which I thought was quite good value.
