Also , if it's that rust ? It says in the link @Fire that there is no fungicidal to use ? And I can't do that heat ttt thing . I'm actually a pharmacist and tempted to use an anti fungal on it ...won't it work 😂
Mint is inexpensive.. don't feel guilty putting the entire thing in the trash.. washing out your pot with hot soapy water and a bit of bleach to kill off any of this possible rust spore.. and get yourself some new mint. Chocolate mint is my favorite.. but pineapple mint is very lovely too.. and I find the fuzzy leaves seem to deter the aphids a bit more.
When you cut your mint just dunk it in water and slosh it around ... That'll wash the aphids off ... and if you do swallow on or two they'll do you no harm. I'm sure I've swallowed quite a few. Any pesticide or fungicide will make the mint inedible.
