By the way, I wouldn't recommend getting your Blue Ensign from J Parkers. I tried that several years ago - bare roots. They turned out to be spotty ones with the common pink-to-blue flowers. I did get a refund, but still. I can't remember where I eventually got Blue Ensign from, but they're much less robust than my spotty forms, Sissinghurst White, Opal, Diana Clare, Majeste (mature leaves on that one are almost all silver but the smaller leaves up the flowering stems tend to be spotty), Trevi Fountain.

Nice! I haven't seen that one before.
Dorset Perennials list it as well https://dorsetperennials.co.uk/product/pulmonaria-rubra-var-albocorollata/ - slightly less expensive than Beth Chatto, and their picture is a bit less glamorous! (I didn't compare the P&P costs though).

I was going to say that l like Blue Ensign. I bought one plant years ago and divided it so often it's now all round my garden looking as good as @Silver surfer 's photos in the Spring.

That white one from Beth Chatto looks rather nice. I tried Sissinghurst White a few years ago but sadly it wasn't a success.

I've just bought a Blue Ensign so I was happy to see @Silver surfer's photos. I hope mine looks like that in a couple of years.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • I also wonder if there is a white with a plain leaf. P Joan's Red was introduced by Joan Grout a dear friend and lady I worked for a long time ago.
P Blue Ensigh is lovely with small narcissus.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
  • I am rather fond of the pink flowering one.
