  • I’m training my OH up in the kitchen and garden with an eye to the future @Valley Gardener;)

  • Walking always is beneficial, health-wise, maybe a walk would turn interesting, you would get great moods, new friends.

Not sure you've read the thread properly, Henry.  :)

Sorry you've had to rethink your gardening Valley Gardener. My auntie always said "Where there's a will, there's a wayl", and you'll certainly find a lot of support on here. Lovely card by the way Phillip  :)

Very sorry to hear you're not able to walk any more. Can your garden be adapted to have some raised beds so you can sit and do things, or is it too steep for that?
I have been known to put a plastic tablecloth on the dining room table to do some potting up when I was indisposed!

    Many hugs.

  • Thank you @Lizzie27.
Fortunately this is the smallest garden we've ever had,and it's just long and thin, with no grass to worry about. I think with my Dads old kneeler, handles both sides,I should be able to sit to some jobs. The beds either side of the steps are shored up with a small wall, which I may be able to kneel on with a cushion.(hips are the problem)
Yes,I think the kitchen table could be very useful.☺

Walking helps my wife who has a Bakers Cyst behind her right knee, if she is unable to walk for a few days the knee seizes up, we are lucky to have a nature reserve within a few minutes drive of the house, that is where we do our walking and take a few photos too, so lay off the rain a few dry cold days won't come to any harm.
  • @Valley Gardener ,..your welcome,..gosh its all happening to you just now,..it can only get better so think positive,..get stuck into something to distract your situation,..even planning gardening in ones mind helps,..so chin up. Ah,..thank you @AnniD ,..best wishes to you.
