Blood fish and bone

Can I feed my roses with blood fish and bone?

    I feed everything with the stuff.. trees, garden veggies, roses, shrubs, etc.  I use the recommended amount (or less) and figure it is like three different timed doses in one application.. plus it feeds the soil micro-bacteria and fungi, as well as the plants.

    Unless you have foxes. They'll dig it up and your plants with it.

    Why the gloves?  Can it cause skin damage?

    I use a poundshop plastic garden scoop to dish it out.
    Should i be more careful?

    Kitty - I never wear gloves, although I usually use a little yogurt pot for spreading it. Some people do think it's harmful in some way, but I'm not sure what that exactly is! I've been using it for decades and I'm still here  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I think it is because some bonemeal was thought to contain anthrax spores. I know it stings if it gets in a cut.  Welcome back Fairygirl.
