It looks like one of the dwarf Rhododendrons, like preacox , but I'd have expected buds now. In short, not sure. Nutcutlet will come along and sort it out for sure.
Thanks all! I have to say, up until ten minutes ago I had no idea what the difference between rhododendrons and azaleas was never having had a garden with either in. Now it seems I will have to go and count the stamens when the thing finally flowers!
