Another shrub for ID please

    It looks like one of the dwarf Rhododendrons, like preacox , but I'd have expected buds now.
    In short, not sure. 
    Nutcutlet will come along and sort it out for sure.

    Could it be an Azalea ?

    First thought is the same as Hosta.

    I'd say it was an azalea - same thing really. Can't see any buds on mine either.

    Thanks all! I have to say, up until ten minutes ago I had no idea what the difference between rhododendrons and azaleas was never having had a garden with either in. Now it seems I will have to go and count the stamens when the thing finally flowers!

    It is a Rhododendron..one commonly known as an evergreen Azalea.
    There are many named cultivars with small purple flowers.

    An Azalea is correctly called Rhododendron.

    Hard to tell scale but if the leaves are small it's probably an azalea. Which is a rhododendron. So I'll say it's a rhodo and am sure to be right  :)

    Yes it is small, sorry didn't think of scale when I took the pic.
