Your garden looks absolutely beautiful marlorena, the Roses are stunning. It’s the kind of effect I’d like to achieve in my garden.....one day.

Thanks so much Bright Star..  I'm glad you liked it... I'm a rose collector, so it wouldn't be to everyone's taste.   Best of luck with your gardening this season... and lots of lovely roses I hope..

    Your roses are beautiful, Marlorena.

I live in SW France, and I also have about 70 roses, some in pots. It is shallow soil, limestone and clay, so I struggle a bit and so do the roses, but some have done really well. The winters can be very cold and wet and the summers hot and dry. I use a lot of manure and they all need watering in summer. At the moment our rivers are overflowing.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Mary / Busy-Lizzie, thank you too...  a number of people here seem to live in France.  I've got a few roses I imported from there.  I've seen photos of your roses, especially the ones in pots, and they are marvellous, so full of bloom.  I don't know how you do it to be honest..
