@Yviestevie this may be a bit late for you but the Red Cross have wheelchairs that you can borrow. A friend sorted one out for my mum when she broke her leg some years ago. I think it's for a donation but depending on the returns policy of your vendor it might be worth checking out. Either way I hope your mum's happier.  :) Happy mum, happy everyone!  ;)

I cut my hair when I can tuck it into my knickers. It takes about three hours to dry, being fine I only use a bristle brush on it and never use a hairdryer. I get through a lot of conditioner. A three week diving holiday needs 2kg of shampoo and conditioner.  No , we don't fly ryanair.
This afternoon I am hoping to get a replacement shredder for my 25 year old one that disintegrated last week.  Someone has a later model, hardly used , a few miles away at a very cheap price. If it works OK we will have it, and use bits of the old one for spares if necessary.
I watched the Commonwealth games opening. Somehow it seemed a lot friendlier than the Olympic opening, if not as slick and polished.

  • Just in for cup of tea while the shower passes over, had physiotherapy this morning called into the allotment on the way home but to wet to do anything, so came on home and have been fiddling around on the balcony.
Still to wet to treat the new trellis but have planted up one of the new clematis the rest of the trellis is due I hope tomorrow along with the last tall planter.
The weather forcast is good for the next few days so I hope to get it all finished.

@Hampshire Hog  my OH popped down to the shops on his bike ... that's what caused the heavy shower ... the song "Why does it always rain on me?" was written about him  ;)

That's the gardening done here for the day ... I'll get on with prepping supper ... pork chops, roasted butternut squash and broccoli  :)

Well what a stressful day.  PP thanks for the idea re the red cross but don't know if it would work as I need it permanently.  The wheelchair came on time.  When I unpacked it I couldn't believe how wide it was.  Firstly I was worried that mum would feel embarassed as it was so wide.  Then I realised that that was the least of my worries as the b****y thing wouldn't fit through the door when it was opened.  It has taken me all afternoon to sort out how I can send the thing back as there was no weight on the packaging or in the description on ebay and every carrier I tried needed that information..  In the end I had hubby balancing on the bathroom scales carrying this huge wheelchair.  As it turned out to be 20kg + you can imagine the look on his face.  Don't think we have an emoji to describe his expression.
