I had a straight square lawn but curved it to basically create greater depth on my boarders which most curved lawn will allow you. Basically, think about the shape you want and invest in some landscaping lawn spray to to create the curves. I found this a lot better than using hose pipe to create the shapes

    I agree re. the hosepipe.
I use 3 short bamboo canes, a loop of string and a funnel filled with seaweed meal for marking. It's then possible to get perfect curves.

I suggested to OH that he reduce his lawn to "wheelbarrow width" so I can grow more plants - strangely enough he wasn't keen !

Im a fan of gently curving lawns. I did the same to my garden, it was a bland square lawn when I moved it and straight away I curved the edges..

    After..

    Hi LeadFarmer
Just shows you want a curved lawn can bring. The difference between the 2 photos you have posted shows that as it bring your plants more in to the garden where a square lawn seems to restrict that

Pleased to see that you got rid of the spiky things!

Your changes show what a difference a curve makes  It's all very well done (IMHO). I think I'd even have rounded the edges of the patio.
