I've still got the border on the right to curve this year
Further down I've tried to make it appear that the 'path' branches off either side as the grass goes behind the border with dahlias, then the middle bit of lawn tapers leading to the the pergola There are still bits not quite right yet, but I nibble away with the half-moon and some hosepipe when I get the inspiration

Amberspy, the joy is in the journey just as much as in the result.
Yip exactly so no rush I’ve so much to learn and no idea how to mix things that look great together and have different heights but I suppose I get there I only want do certain colours as well oranges red white and greens if possible but mite add more colours when I get it way I want it last year new fences went on and add climbers to fences which did great for first year I do think I need more evergreen or shrubs to tie in with other plants I have but think I have wait to see how well plants in putted in last year do this spring summer before I add more
So true. I've been tweaking mine for 30yrs now. Plenty of mistakes along the way, but it turns out good in the end. Every year is so different. I've planted up a herbaceous white, blue, pink and silver border last autumn - I can't wait to see what it looks like in a couple of months time.

Back to the original picture; I would just have one sweeping curve rather than have the wiggle in it, (more room for plants!). I agree with AnniD about the mowing.
Wow - these garden pictures are stunning. I winged it with a half moon edger rather than a hosepipe but this was a small area & I wouldn't recommend it
