Our council , in its infinite wisdom , have decided that black sacks ( with food waste in them ) will shortly be collected fortnightly, and not weekly as now. However garden waste, which is of no interest to rats, cats, foxes , crows etc will still be collected weekly.
You couldn't make this stuff up, could you?

It's interesting how different councils have different ideas! Food waste can be a chore, but at least we have an indoor lidded bucket and a larger outdoor one to transplant them in too. I can't believe some places still have smelly food in the main waste bin, let alone a flimsy bag!

We don't have any means of disposing of food waste except the general waste bin. .....that is collected fortnightly.
Garden is to small and waste to minimal for a compost heap .

Be super organised and divide into piles for shredding, composting etc.
We have 3 compost bins, a leaf bin and a log pile plus 2 Council garden waste bins we pay £82 pa for. We use these mainly for weeds I don't want to compost, hedge clippings that don't go thro the shredder easily (doesn't like too many leaves and or bent branches) and thicker pieces of wood. These can all get full quite quickly, especially over the summer as have a large garden too.

We have a trailer and anything which is not compostable is taken to the tip, it's amazing how quickly we can get a trailer load. Weeds are stored in the big black pots you buy trees in and all the larger stuff goes in a pile until we have a full load.
We rarely go only to the tip but try and incorporate it into another journey.

I don’t actually think I’m ‘super organised’ but I do sort garden waste. Some goes straight in the compost bin, some (grass, leaves) waits in builders sacks for adding to the compost in thin layers, some waits until I get the shredder out, some waits until I get the mower out for sort-of-shredding, large branches are sawn for the log burner and the nasties (bitter cress, creeping thistle, bramble, dock, couch grass etc etc) go in the council bin.
    Proper mix  :)

Interesting to hear your regimes. My New Year's Resolution (meaning: I consider tomorrow is the Gardening New Year) is to be more organised with the sorting so my compost bins/bags have a fighting chance.
