  This is from the same clump, but more sheltered by shrubs and trellis at the back of the clump
  
  
  
  Maybe up in North Norfolk yours were more exposed to the icy winds?

  The icy winds were awful - a neighbour who is a professional gardener came this morning and he says its the weather
  I'm going to leave them for a bit and then maybe cut them back -  see what happens
