Sarah Raven is another site that quotes months for flowering. I'm just glad things survive and flower, regardless of when!! If I see something on GW or wherever in flower I know I will be at least a couple of weeks later at least.
J&H - you could work your way through the jamjar posts and that will give you an idea of what is in flower every month.

What are the jamjar posts Hogweed?
  • There is this Suttons chart. I don't know how accurate it is or if it's comprehensive enough for your needs.

  • Having a bit of trouble getting the url button to work, so I'm afraid this post may appear a few times, but there is this chart on Suttons website if that's any help.

The crocus website does give you that information.  If you go into plant finder and put in your conditions and then click on the +filters it comes up with flowering month, so you can narrow it down from there.  I hope that helps. Crocus website is my go to all the time.

I don't think they can do it because it varies so much depending on weather. Plants are sold nationally and it'll be different depending on how far north you are.

It even varies in the same area depending on how sheltered the plants are; a garden about 3 miles away from us has a forsythia in full bloom and there's no sign of mine yet.

I do what Kitty suggested and look at dates on photos. On 12th March last year my cherry was in full bloom, this year I think it'll be at least another week or two.

Paul, that's a brilliant link, thank you.
Peanuts, I shall take a look at that.  I have to agree the Crocus site is very useful for all sorts of things (border ideas/plant details etc).
Autumnglory, I completely agree.  I was walking at the weekend and had to take a very close look at a shrub as I couldn't believe it was Forsythia it was so laden in bloom when all the others in this area are still barely budding because of the weather.
Again thank you to everyone.  I have had excellent suggestions which I'll be looking into. I am only looking for a guide and looking at the snow outside today I realise this may well be a unusual year in all sorts of ways as far as flowering goes.
