I see Toast of London sold out and went commercial and is now on BBC2. What next - Year of The Rabbit set in NY and on NetFlix? If you've never met Clem Fandango et al, you'd need to go back to London to catch up.
Loved the David Attenborough Songs programme. The Lyre bird is amazing - and a liar! We're watching The Tourist in real time and really enjoying it so far. Looking forward to The Green Planet. And Peaky Blinders - we binged all 5 series after exhortations from daughter to watch it having initially thought it wasn't really our sort of thing.
We've been enthralled by 'Anne' starring Maxine Peake. It's about the Hillsborough stadium disaster and the botched inquests, enquiries, newspaper reporting etc. Last night's episode had me in tears.
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
I have been watching ‘Anne’ - a really well done story IMO.
Also watched (binged) ‘Four Lives’ about Port, played by Stephen Merchant, who murdered four young men (not really a spoiler considering the title and the fact that it is a true story). I quickly gathered that the police’s attitude had homophobic tones, and this was confirmed in the concluding remarks. Another excellent programme.
Snipped 'Haven’t looked back so I don’t know if it’s been mentioned already, but BBC2 at 9pm last night showed the first part (of 2) of The Hunt for Bible John.
I’m not one for dwelling on murders and whodunnits, but this was much more of a documentary about living conditions in Glasgow in the late 1960s. There was relatively little about the three murders, the stress was on the absolutely appalling conditions that quite normal working people were obliged to live in.'
I see what you mean pansyface. Just looked it up on BBC iplayer and only watched 30 mins of it so far but it's amazing that people lived in those slums as late as the 60's. Social history really.
I have been watching Rick Stein travelling around Cornwall. His idea of adding "a pinch of salt " to a fish pie varies considerably from my own. Beautiful scenery though, and fascinated to learn that the potatoes in the walled garden at Tresillian (?) are sprayed with 1 part full fat milk to 10 parts water to keep off blight etc. Seems to work as well !

Not a bad start to the New Year TV wise.
