I don’t watch that much TV but there happens to be three programmes I like which are all airing at 9pm tonight:
Years and Years - BBC1 The Planets - BBC2 Great British Gardens: Season by season with Carol Klein - Ch5.
I also snoozed-off watching The Planets last week, although I have since re-watched. It can go on my list of things to listen to when I can’t sleep, along with any Attenborough programme. Being on the list is an accolade, not a negative, as they are just calm, softly narrated programmes which I find relaxing.
Enjoying Years and Years, Gentleman Jack and Springwatch. Does anyone watch ‘Mum’? It’s on series 3 and I still can’t decide if it’s genius or whether I’m just watching it to see what happens if all the characters finally say what they are thinking/want to say/tell others what they really think. BBC2 tonight is the new Brian Cox Planets prog - so I’m off to make a brew and watch that now.
I thought episode 4 of “Mum” (season3) was the most sublime and exquisite piece of TV I have seen for a very long time. So well written and performed... I had a nice laugh and an even nicer cry-along. Obviously you would need to have watched the previous episodes but oh was it nice. Do they really want to stop after only 3 seasons?
Thank you for the reminder - I've been meaning to watch Mum for ages but keep forgetting about it.
I don't think I've said this before, apologies if I have, but we've started watching Bodies on iPlayer -- early-ish Jed Mercurio series. It's a rollercoaster!
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Ooh! New 'Tales of the City' starts on Netflix tomorrow! With Laura Linney, Olympia Dukakis and several others from the old series. Hopefully it'll be like seeing old friends.
