  • My kitchen windowsills are packed with seedlings, but I will have to find space somewhere for the Cosmos! Having read the comments I think I'll plant in seed tray, and pot up later!🌱

Have had great success with Cosmos the last 2 years, I sow into seed tray, pot on to 9cm pots some of them because I sow so many I wouldnt have room for allthe pots seems to work out fine, I only direct sow wildflower seed, I like to plant decent size plants I can see, and give less benefit to the mice and slugs
  • I'm looking forward to sowing these, they should look good with Salvia East Friesland,I like the Pink, purple and blue combinations. As you say Nanny Beach, putting in some decent sized plants will deter the little nibblers!!!

I started of my cosmos and other seedlings this week too. I have Salvia East Friesland and Salvia Nemorosa in my garden and absolutely love them. I like the salvias with Orange and pink plants, looked great with dwarf cosmos ‘Pinkie’

  • The combinations can be quite striking! When I can put my sweet peas out in the porch, and make room on the windowsill,I've got Versailles Tetra seed to start.Think I'll stick to one colour Cosmos near the house, and do some mixed for the bottom of the garden, putting them in with the wild flowers. It gets exciting when the Cosmos go in!!!!😁😁

At Chatsworth Flower Show this year the RHS will be planting a river of Cosmos bipinnatus  ‘Razzamatazz’ in front of the house, 12,000 plants in all, it will be breathtaking I’m sure. I’ve bought tickets especially to see that. I hope it doesn’t rain!
