I was amazed that they covered a six foot by six foot trellis in just 6months! I fed them every week with tomato food and mulched after planting. I think I will need to do that again in the next two three weeks as well.
As you can see my alpines Willy and Ruby turned out to be very much alive this April after such an aweful winter and lived through the beast from the East!
I Think I’m catching a disease because since I put these in I’ve planted 5 more clematis in the garden..... they are so delicate and versatile in their use!
I love the alpinas and tried a few - Blue Dancer, Brunette, Constance and a couple more - in my last garden but they always died of fright in our hard winters. Haven't seen them on sale here but I'm sure I'll find some somewhere.
