  • I'm worried too Freddies Dad.  I put fleece over my camellia to protect the buds but I can see that's been flapping about.  Also, I leave my dahlias in the ground - covered with compost - but not sure they will survive with all the rain, snow and cold we are having image

    That's all we need again ; you think you're out of the woods , then along comes a -9C windchill for the weekend ; great!!!
  • Should I cover my Rhododendron and newly planted Clematis in Fleece,I have others to plant but can store those in the porch.Glad now that I haven't got round to it!😞

    Planted some Lobelia Russian Princess this week. Got them mail order in 13cm pots. Have a fair root ball on them and frost hardy. I will leave them in the ground and prepare for frost by using large plastic water bottles and cutting them down leaving the top end
    and place them over the plants as mini cloches. Normally does the job
