Well I have learnt a few things this year.
Next time someone announces a wedding, keep my mouth firmly shut.
Just because the bride said she wanted peach and white, doesn't mean it will match my perception of peach and white.
The stocks didn't really produce enough.
Annual gypsophila will have to be sown in succession to keep going through the summer.
The Apricot statice veered towards a yellow, especially after drying.
The bride decided against rose bowls as centrepieces and went for large stuff instead.
60 dahlia plants need a couple of hours watering every day during the heatwave.
The heatwave wiped out all the sweetpeas with mildew.
Gladioli very temperamental in the heat.
    Fata morgana scabious too yellow.
Photos on packets do not match reality.

However, we got there in the end. 8 large  jugs and vases full, mainly coral frizzle gladioli and  dahlias, mainly cafe au lait , white cactus and another white one that ended up with pink tips.  Picked on Saturday, augmented with some white statice from my friends garden, some gypsophila off the market.
The kitchen looked like a flower shop. We made them up and transported them along the A52 to the reception on Sunday, to have one large vase fall over in the last ten yards.  A bit of repair work  and they were ready 15 minutes before the bride walked down the aisle.
    Bride and Brides mother happy.
    Me cream crackered.

I spent most of today recovering. I would post some pics but since the forum  altered it, I have to do some jiggery poky to get them to upload. I went to the opticians this morning for an eye test. He commented that I looked a bit bleary eyed.

These are after they were bought back from the reception. There were another two vases full, but the bride took them home. The jugs went in the reception room, and the big globes in the marquee on pedestals.

Absolutely beautiful @fidgetbones.  Are they all from your garden?

I bought a bunch of peach roses, and the gypsophila. Total cost £11.  The white statice came from my friends garden, as my "peach shades" statice was too yellow. The dahlias, gladioli, eucalyptus, antirrhinums, cosmos, and pink linaria were all out of my garden. The pink/peach dahlia at the top is Labyrynth. We only had one in full bloom. It stood as a single specimen between the bride and groom at the wedding breakfast, because she liked the colour so much.
