Thanks. I'll have to wait a few years till mine spread enough to have spares for cutting - starting over with 20 small pots of just a couple of bulbs taken from clumps in my Belgian garden.

I have perennial gypsophila in pots that has now started growing. I intend to sow a row of annual gypsophila tomorrow. If there are a lot of seeds in the packet, I may try some outside and some in a plug tray. The first three trays of sweet peas are about 3 inch high, now I need to plant some more to try and extend the season. Dahlia are slow. I now have three showing shoots. Cosmos have been stationary for the last two weeks. I hope this weather speeds them up a bit.
Where is this heat plume we are supposed to be getting?. It seems to stop at Watford Gap. All of 15 C in the greenhouse. I put in four more trays of sweet peas today. Then I baited the mousetraps in the greenhouse with crunchy peanut butter.
Cold, wet and windy here today. My sweet peas are all of an inch tall so far. No sign of cosmos yet. Cornflowers have germinated though, and a couple of zinnias so it's a start, I suppose.

I've been waiting to prick the cosmos out for nearly two weeks. I thought that when I went away at Easter for 48 hours, they would be ready when I got back, they had already germinated. They are just showing sins of the first true leaves. 😞
Cosmos are just coming up here in the greenhouse - sown 10 days ago. Purity, Xanthos and Cranberry Pink. All the other seeds I sowed then as well are starting to come through.

My seedlings have finally germinated too......I was beginning to think I'd have no flowers this year. As for the heat plume or whatever it's called. .....still waiting
Two days of heat and everything goes crazy. I pricked out cosmos, white cupcakes and double dutch white. Statice, apricot, and vintage peach stocks. The dahlias are starting to throw up shoots now. Cleome, very disappointing, only four germinated out of a packet. The scabious have germinated well. I would like them to flower this year, but I expect it will be next year.
So , I now have the annual gypsophila in flower, even though it is still in the plug trays. The stocks are flowering, but they have very short stems. The yellow scabious and knautia won't be in flower in September, but I think the fata morgana scabious will flower as they are sending up flower buds. The bride to be was really happy yesterday, the stocks colour exactly matches the bridesmaids dresses.
