Evening. An eclectic mix of topics indeed! The chat seems busy the last few days - plenty to read.

Lurgy is better today - just that annoying tickly cough you get once the sore throat and aches subside.

I know it's a bit early but... bought a box of Cream Eggs* last week and had forgotten about them until I opened cupboard for something else just now ?

    Hope you all doing ok.

*other confectionary eggs are available etc.

Some progress at last, Hosta, I am pleased.

OH home after 2 nights away working. I managed to tidy up before she got home and we have just eaten Salmon and Ratatouille.

Good evening Yvie,  Nice to "see" you again.

Hi Yvie! Long time no see. Sorry to hear you've had the flu - I don't think I've ever known so many people get the proper flu as this year.

I've got a slightly manky throat tonight. OH has had a lousy cold the last few days. If he's given it to me I shall have to have stern words.

Early to bed for us tonight - got up before 5 to see Bow off on her trip. I did go back to bed for a bit but didn't sleep. G'night.

  • Yay! Yvie ... Wonky was just saying the other day that you'd gone quiet.  Glad you're better ... that flu is awful ... son had it at Christmas ... he passed out on the floor twice!  Thankfully we'd had the jab and it worked.

Right ... time for bed said Zebedee ... image

We had the jab too this year.  So far so good.   It sounds like a bad one to have.

Great to see you popping in again Yvie and trust you are fully recovered.  LG - I hope your bug doesn't "develop" and goes away after a good sleep.

    Pdoc - well done.

AR - I have never been able to eat a creme egg but I do have other chocolate vices - as long as it's proper chocolate with cocoa solids and butter.

Hosta - why hasn't that referral already happened?   I despair!

Bed time for me too.  G'night all.

Good to hear from you Yvie, sorry you've been ill.

I've made another batch of marmalade, nearly finished another patchwork square and watched "Girlfriends".

My cold is turning into a cough.

What’s this Aussie flu thing? We haven’t got it here.image We did have one last winter from the northern hemisphere though and we had a cough for ages. imageimage

Its taken me so long to read back that I’ve forgotten what I was going to respond to.... Der!

Hubby made another of his upside cakes last night with some Aldi preserved peaches. image

That drive yesterday knocked me out so I didn’t get up until after 10 am this morning. It’s very hot outside now so I might put the grocery shopping trip off until late this afternoon. Hopefully it’ll be a bit cooler by then. Hubby just advised its 33.5 out there at the moment.image

I’ve just remembered one of the things I was going to write about. The purple dressing gown thing - I just wander outside in my nightie. If anyone is spying, they must be across the valley with binoculars. No neighbours close enough to hang over fences here. Besides I think to myself - whatever turns them on - go for it.

Hope everyone has got over some of the things that have made them feel crook.

    catch up later.
