  • Morning all!

I've never heard that one, Dacha - thanks for the introduction!  I don't really "do" most pop music, but make exceptions for real musicians like Paul Simon, who can sing, play an instrument really well, and write effortless lyrics like those.  image

It's such a lovely morning I'm going to play hookey and visit the GC...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • Dacha great track I had not heard that before either thanks.

Must go the postman has just delivered my seed order from Marshalls- I know they are not the cheapest but generous family vouchers for Christmas & Birthday mean I spend very little & can indulge myself. This years novelty veg? Agretti Land Seaweed (Solo soda)  meant to be a bit like samphire, as I am no where near the coast thought I would give it a try.

Have a good day all- Obs be careful with doing too much when on painkillers, you could do more damage without realising.

Thanks for the warning Ian but haven't taken any today as I don't need to dance.   I'm OK as long as I keep moving but very stiff if I sit too long so am about to make mango chutney and then blood orange and chili marmalade which will keep me busy and upright.

    Liri - have fun.

DL - don't think I've heard that one before.  Thanks.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I still haven’t read back properly for about three days, but skimming the most recent. I’m very tired and in bed early, especially since our son has gone to bed early which means early wake up as well.

Obelixx my other Ukelele is a Banjo Ukelele with skin on a round body instead of wood. The new one is a straight Ukelele and all wood. Shaped like a mini guitar. It doesn’t give the same ringing sound like a banjo, but is really lovely. Stil only 4 single gut strings, not 4 double strings like a mandolin.

Chords are the same configuration and just as tricky to get my fingers around, but great enjoyment.

    Hi all.

Sunny here, but a hard frost, so planned weeding abandoned.

Got a bit of a shock, I was standing in the stream, removing a branch, when a Heron landed in the pond about 20 feet away. Sadly as soon as I moved he was off. Magnificent primeval birds. We get them fishing in the pond quite a lot.

We had herons and, in winter, great egrets in Belgium.  Round here there are herons nearby but not in our pond yet and little egrets in the cattle fields.  We also see storks in winter as theer's lots of marsh land between here and the coast.   Wonderful sight.

Hi Pat - yes , I looked up your banjo ukelele and I think I prefer that sound.   The normal one looks fun tho and certainly easy to carry around with you.

Gently does it Pdoc but so pleased you're getting out and managing a few jobs now.

    Thanks Dove and Obelixx.

I just need to think a bit more about how I do stuff. Filled a barrow with compost and tried to push it  this morning, would have been easy a year ago, but now hopeless. When I emptied half of it out, i could manage.
