While this post is still open I'll reply about Daphnes. Buttercupdays, my D.mezereum was 11 years old, I think - not in the best position, really, because my garden is pretty shady, damp, and has acid soil. I put it in the sunniest place, and added limestone chippings when planting it, but... perhaps I'd better try again in a pot.
Your Jacqueline Postil is lovely, Chicky. But not hardy enough for the frozen north, probably...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Oh dear, I've started the Garden Gallery a few times before and I looked through several pages and did a search and didn't see one so I started this, but apparently I was pipped to the post by 2 days. I put this one under plants and the other poster put it under potting shed.
It would be good if they could be joined together so we have all the lovely photos in one place.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Oh dear - maybe Nora can merge them?

I've flagged it up to her to see what she can do
