    tulips realy happy in the border...I brought these from a nursery as white specimen type..but are more sorbet. I forgot what they were called as want some more

    @Jason-3I thought it was a technical term I hadn't heard before. I would love to know the variety and plant the tulips next year. I'd be fascinated to know if they return year after year.

    Likewise, have tried various tulips in the hope of finding a reliable perennial, have had some success with appledoorn, though I’m not a big fan of red flowers so I half wish they hadn’t. Surprisingly one of the pretty common ones found in chain garden centres, Ballerina, is now in its 5th year for me and looks like the flowers are set to be pretty much the same size and number as ever
