  • Snowdrops do best if they're planted 'in the green' ... that is while they're still growing ... just after flowering ... if you can find some in pots buy them and plant them now, or go to an open garden with a Snowdrop Walk ... most of them sell snowdrops in the green in pots around now. image

    Hello all,

I'm unable to merge the two Garden Gallery 2018 threads I'm afraid, so instead, I've copied and pasted the images from Busy-Lizzie's thread, into this thread. BL's thread can be found here for reference, but I'll now lock it, so that we have one Garden Gallery thread: http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/plants/garden-gallery-2018/1009587.html  ?

Now that it's a new year I am starting a new thread for our garden photos. I had a look and couldn't find that anyone else has done one.

Things are just starting to move in my garden.

It may be grey and dreary January but I found all this magic going on in the garden about 10 days ago... The roses are a bit of a bonus as I wasn't expecting to see them at this time of year... image

Mostly still snowdrops here, and, of course, my daphne....my favourite winter plant

Mine is a jaqueline postil Liri - inherited, so at least 11 years old, but probably more.  It flowers, and more importantly pumps out the most incredible fragrance, from Christmas til March.  Bcupdays - ours is also by the driveway - so we get to enjoy it everyday image

Just found these too - all my other hellebores are still in bud

  • Right.  Confusion over... I know where to post my garden pics now!  Not that I have any at the moment cos everything is covered in snow...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Chicky.  Your hellebores are scrumptious.  Can I beg some seeds when they're ripe?  Think I may try a daphne here.  They didn't like the cold and wet in my Belgian garden.

Absolutely agree about those hellebores Chicky ...... some of the loveliest I've seen.

I wonder if a daphne would be happy here ... and where could I find room for one image
